Dear MSMS,
The Mekong River, considered the Mother River of Southeast Asia, travels through 7 different countries. It is the 10th largest river in the world. Water from the melted snow on the high mountains of the Tibetan pleatue flows into a stream which is the source of the river. There's also hundreds of tributaries that come from monsoons that flow into it, feeding it more water. The Mekong has many different names like "Lancang" in Jinhong, "Lancand Jiang" from China, "Kong" from Thailand and Laos, and many others. At the delta, it spreads into many channels. It's here where people call it the "Gao Long" or "Nine Dragons." The river is sacred in some places. It is also a source of life to some. The Mekong provides food, transportation and security. There are about 60 million people who depend on its resources. People grow vegetalbes along its side. Even though its argiculture is seasonal, its security is yearly. Products made from it feed neighbooring countries. A lot of major markets in northeast Thailand have Mekong products. There's many species of fish in it so plenty of food. Along the Thai-Lao border, complex ecosystems are really important fishing communities. The Mekong River is great and really large.
Sincerely,
Emmett

I thought that the Mekong River was a very good looking place (or what you described it as). The Hoover Dam is seeming very similar with the Colorado River running through the Hoover Dam.
I also thought about the Mekong River as being the world's 5th largest river. The Colorado River (which runs through the Hoover Dam) is the most visited place in Nevada/Arizona (besides Las Vegas). Also I think both of the waters in the rivers are very clean and purified for certain reasons of which I don't know. Plus, the Mekong river sounds like a place that many people would like to visit.
